性侵模特兒　美印度裔設計師判刑59年

洛杉磯高等法院法官今天宣判，印度裔的時裝設計師亞歷山大
（Anand JonAlexander），因對多名青少女和婦女性虐待，
判處入獄至少59年。

35歲的亞歷山大，據傳許多名流都穿戴其設計的服飾，包括
芭莉絲希爾頓（Paris Hilton）和瑪麗布萊姬（Mary J. Blige）
等。在去年11月的審判中，他有16項性侵罪名成立，包括強暴
和性侵犯。

亞歷山大今天親自出席聆聽法官的宣判，他不禁痛哭失聲，要求
重審。法官拒絕他的請求。

洛杉磯高等法院的檢察官指控他在2002年到2007年的6年之
間，連續誘騙年齡介於14至21歲的女孩和成年女子。

亞歷山大受審期間，9位婦女作證指控他。檢察官說，大多數的
受害者都是立志成名的模特兒，亞力山大引誘她們與他見面，並

Fashion designer Anand Jon Alexander sentenced to 59 years to life

Celebrity fashion designer Anand Jon Alexander was
sentenced to 59 years to life in prison this afternoon for
sexually assaulting seven girls and young women whom
prosecutors said he enticed with the promise of modeling jobs.

Alexander, acting as his own attorney, presented a
lengthy argument Monday saying he should get a new
trial because of juror and prosecutorial misconduct, and
inadequate defense by his former attorneys. A judge
denied his motion.

Alexander stared ahead blankly as Judge David Wesley
handed down the hefty sentence and his victims wept in
the jury box.

The designer, who appeared on the reality television
show “America’s Next Top Model,” was convicted of 16
charges including rape and sexual assault in November.
Wesley sentenced him to the maximum sentence for all
but two of those counts, saying he showed no remorse
for his actions and posed a danger to other young
women.

Alexander also faces charges in New York and Texas,
where he has been indicted. Should he be convicted in
other states, those sentences would be served on top
of his California sentence, prosecutors said.

Several of Alexander’s victims spoke before the
sentencing, each choking up with emotion.

“I was 14. You took my adolescence, my trust, my
dream and completely manipulated them for your
sexual desires,” one of the victims said, reading from a
statement.
